 Job Title Senior Compliance Manager

 Details The role holder will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive compliance arrangements are in place in accordance with Jersey Financial Services legislation. Additionally, this role includes responsibility for assisting the Board with the monitoring programme designed to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policy and procedure requirements and best practice.

Act as Data Protection Officer for the Jersey Business.

Responsibilities:

Define strategy and develop policy to ensure robust arrangements for compliance with the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 and Orders (issued under the Law)
Ensure that the internal policy and procedures manual is maintained
Interpret and disseminate information about regulatory changes and adapt procedures, documents and compliance tools to accommodate these rule changes
Manage key aspects of the Company’s relationship with the JFSC
Submission of necessary ad hoc reports and regular periodic reports
Maintain the various registers as required by the JFSC
Ensure all mandatory JFSC regulatory returns and notifications are made
Work with senior management in the ongoing development of the company’s risk-based monitoring programme and internal operating procedures and make recommendations for improvements in the manner in which compliance is achieved
Provide advice and guidance on the compliance implications of proposed new products and services
Review and approval of advertisements and marketing documents
Report directly to the Board on compliance matters
Prepare and present formal reports to the Directors at monthly Board Meetings
Provide support in compliance issues to all business areas
Establish effective auditable arrangements for regulatory and AML training and provide compliance induction training for new employees and ongoing training for all staff

Requirements:

Recognised appropriate professional qualification(s)
Proven experience in dealing with JFSC and Compliance issues within the Trust industry and a thorough knowledge of the legislation
Effective people management skills
Confident and motivational with excellent communication skills
Ability to assimilate information and project manage
Attention to detail
Ability to solve problems and act upon solutions to completion
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Jersey residential qualifications or a minimum of five years’ residence preferred

 Salary (pa) c. £75,000     Negotiable
