I take credit for founding the company in 2007, although the vision was shared as you will find out if you read on! Before this dream became a reality, I was a board director of a global trust company, looking after the treasury, banking and investment unit and was awarded fellowship of the Securities Institute in 2005.  My experience, at board level, of the vagaries of the recruitment process, as well as my depth of understanding of business and the talent that drives it have all proved invaluable in developing Optimus.  What you might not know about me is that in my spare time, I do my best to avoid granite walls whilst hill-climbing an out of control 40 year old car with hopeless brakes!!  Or should that be an out of control 40 year old driver severely lacking in talent...!

I am a Chartered Accountant with an Honours Degree in Law (from Glasgow University) and,  until joining Optimus in June 2008, was in the corporate tax division of Ernst & Young before moving to Jersey in 2005 to pursue my accounting career in the field of trust and fund administration with one of the island’s leading fiduciary service providers.  Although the decision to move into recruitment surprised a few people, I have not looked back and I believe my experience and qualifications give me the knowledge and insight that sets this company apart when it comes to understanding what our candidates and clients are looking for. What you may not expect to learn about me is that I spent 6 months living in Copenhagen studying International Law as part of my degree - but I still can't speak a word of Danish!

I joined Optimus in January 2011 having spent the previous 14 years specialising in Trust and Company administration, most recently at Director level since 2006. In this time I gained a broad understanding across the Finance industry having worked for a global bank and a locally owned trust company, which is proving invaluable in my role at Optimus. I have always got a real buzz out of helping people progress in their career and so the move to Optimus was an obvious one for me. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, travelling and drinking the odd glass of red. I also (try to) play 5 a side football and swim to keep fit (it’s not working!).

I joined Optimus in October 2007 as operations and finance director, bringing my fund and accounting knowledge to the business. I am a Chartered Accountant and trained with Arthur Andersen in its audit and assurance division in Jersey. When I qualified I went into the audit team, in the area of private equity investment funds, before joining one of the island’s leading fiduciary service providers and changing focus to the provision of administration and accounting services to a wide range of private equity and real estate related funds.  Where spare time permits outside of hectic family commitments you are likely to find me with a glass in hand whether it be at the Millenium stadium, Wimbledon, Sofia Gardens or Apres-ski!

I joined Optimus in September 2011 after returning from Southampton where I had spent the previous 6 years. During this time I studied for my honours degree in music production and did various work experience before deciding to relocate back to Jersey. I am an enthusiastic, bubbly character and very much a people person, which is why the move into recruitment won't surprise you! What you might not know about me is that in my spare time I am a yoga enthusiast and will often be found at the gym enjoying an intense spinning class (bikes not plates!!)

I have the enviable task of keeping the office, and the consultants, running effectively! I have been here since the beginning and thoroughly enjoy being part of such an energetic, enthusiastic and successful team. I am organised and efficient but what you probably would never guess is that I gained my Highland Dancing Teachers qualification in 1993 and still enjoy a wee highland fling every now and again!
